The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has formed a new organization to be called as Registered Valuers Organisation (RVO). The Companies (Registered Valuers and Valuation) Rules, 2017 had been notified on 18th October 2017, introducing the setting up of a new organization to be called as Registered Valuers Organisation (RVO). The organization shall enroll, educate and train members to enable them to carry out activities for the effective valuation procedures and methods, develop the profession of registered valuers, promote the continuous professional development of valuation professionals, establish and promote high standards of practice and professional conduct. ICAI President CA. Naveen N. D. Gupta confirmed this in a communication sent to the members. “This will lead to the upcoming professional avenue for our members. I am happy to inform that ICAI has formed ICAI Registered Valuers Organisation, a Section 8 company, to enroll and educate its members to become registered valuers. ICAI RVO held its first Board meeting recently,” he said.
